Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – OBGYN

Kahu Malama Nurses has a new opening for a CMA to work at an OBGYN clinic. This is a great position for an experienced CMA who is able to work with minimal supervision and has a strong attention to detail.

POSITION SUMMARY: The person in this position carries out daily operations including reception, scheduling, transcription and assisting patients and physicians with clerical activities. The CMA will also assist the physician with patient care and maintain daily clinic operations when the practice manager is not available.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Prepares, stocks and cleans exam rooms
  • Take vital signs
  • Assist physician as directed including retrieving supplies, medications, comforting patients and assisting during procedures
  • Organizes charts and verify patient information
  • Completes lab order forms and obtains necessary signatures
  • Obtains blood draw from patients when needed
  • Informs physician of patient requests and phone calls
  • Checks and maintains inventory of supplies
  • Greets, receives and welcomes patients
  • Assures cleanliness and orderliness of reception and waiting rooms
  • Obtains Information release authorization form from patients
  • Notifies patients and obtains appropriate waivers as necessary
  • Obtains accurate insurance and demographic information from patients, checks eligibility.
  • Registers patients in the electronic registration system
  • Takes messages and assures prompt delivery of messages
  • Schedules patients for clinic location
  • Schedules patients for ancillary procedures as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • CPR certification
  • At least one year of CMA experience; Prefer three years of experience medical assisting in an OBGYN office
  • TB Clearance

The schedule for this assignment is Monday — Friday from 8:00 am — 5:00 pm. However, hours may sometimes be adjusted to accommodate clinic needs. This assignment is expected to last at least 3 months.

Emergency Room Registered Nurse-Travel Contract-Big Island

Kahu Malama Nurses has a great opportunity for an Emergency Room travel nurse looking for a once in a lifetime experience working in Hawaii!

We are looking for an ER Registered Nurses for current and future openings on Oahu.  * Must have at least 4 years of experience.  We currently have a 13 week assignment available for a travel nurse. Must be flexible with 8 or 12 hour shifts.  The facility will guarantee 32 hours per week but will usually schedule 40 hours. Rotating shifts and rotating weekends.  May be on call based on census and may be asked to work extra hours.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing
  • Hawaii RN License
  • BLS, ACLS and PALS Certification with AHA
  • 2-Step TB Skin Test
  • Immunization Record (MMR, Var, TDAP, Heb B and Flu Shot)

Nurse Aide (Acute Care) Contract-Oahu

Kahu Malama Nurses is currently looking for local Nurse Aides for hospital positions in the Honolulu area. It is a 16 week local contract opportunity available. The positions are for some of the top medical facilities in Honolulu and can often lead to permanent full time positions. These positions are for an 1/04/2018 start date.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum 2 year of previous Nurse Aide experience
  • Up to date CPR, TB clearance and have vaccination records
  • Current certification in BLS/HCP from AHA
  • Electronic medical record documentation experience required. EPIC preferred
  • References with reliable transportation with valid Driver’s license
  • Pass drug screening
  • Acute care experience
  • Caring and compassionate nature
  • Must be dependable and have strong references
